Sydney walked through the door of her house and heard something she very seldom heard anymore - silence.Walking up the stairs, she couldn't help but think about the past few years. Glancing at a picture on the wall, she remembered the most beautiful day of her life - her wedding day. She'd been so nervous, she almost threw up. Luckily for her, her mother had been there to calm her down.
Flashback
"Sydney, honey. Stop worrying."
"I can't help it, Mom. I'm so nervous."
"Dear, listen to me. You're not afraid that you're making a mistake by marrying him, right?" Syd nodded her head. "Then there's nothing to get nervous about. You're gonna walk down that aisle and marry the man of your dreams. Nothing can take that away from you. The whole church could fall down, but that can't stop you."
Syd leaned in and hugged her mom tightly. "Thanks Mom."
"Now go out and live your dream."
End Flashback
Her mom was right. Syd didn't care that the flower girl ran straight to her mother as soon as she started down the aisle, or that Z had tripped when she was half way to the front. All she cared about was saying "I do" to the love of her life. That in itself made the day perfect.
There was only one other day that could even come close to their wedding day and that was the birth of their daughter.
Flashback
"I can't do this!" Syd yelled in pain, holding on to her husband's hand.
"Come on, babe. Yes you can. Just a few more pushes and we'll have our baby girl."
After a few more pushes, Syd felt the pressure stop and heard the first cry of their baby.
"I love you, Syd. So much."
"I love you too," she cried.
End Flashback
Syd was smiling to herself at the memories as she walked into her bedroom. Her heart melted at the sight before her. There on the bed was her husband of two years and in his arms was their six-month old baby girl. Quietly she walked over to the dresser and pulled a camera from the drawer. Just after the flash went off, her love started to stir. He opened his eyes to find Syd standing at the end of the bed, smiling, and holding a camera.
"Syd, when did you get home?"
"Just a minute ago."
"Did you just take a picture?" He asked, still not quite awake.
"Yeah. You guys looked so sweet, I had to capture it," she smiled as he picked himself and Liz, off the bed. In the nursery, he laid the child down, covered her up and turned to Syd.
"You guys have fun shopping?" He wrapped his arms around Syd and placed his hands on her lower back.
"Yeah, we did. Thank you for letting me go."
"Letting you go? If I would have said no, you would have killed me. What choice did I have?" He laughed.
"Yeah, I would have." Syd giggled.
They both turned to watch their little bundle sleep. "I love you Syd."
"Snuggling deeper into her husband's embrace, she responded, "I love you too, Sky."
THE END
Sky's POV
"Sky! Where's the camera?" Syd hollered from the bedroom."It's there somewhere!" Sky hollered back.
"I can't find it!"
Sky walked into the room, carrying their daughter Elizabeth. "Here, I'll look for it. Can you finish getting Liz ready?"
"Alright." She turned to head out of the room, when Sky stopped her.
"You look beautiful, Syd," he smiled.
She gave him a quick kiss on the lips, "Thank you."
While searching for the camera, Sky glanced on top of the dresser. Sitting there were 3 pictures, each one of a special day for them. The first one was one that Jack had took when they got back from their first date.
Flashback
Sky was more nervous than ever. He was patiently waiting in the common room for the girl of his dreams. Earlier that week, he had finally worked up the nerve to ask Sydney out. It took a lot of stuttering, but he eventually got it out and was overjoyed when she said yes.
After a few more minutes, and his worries that she would stand him up, she finally made her way into the room. "Hi Sky."
"Syd," Sky stood in awe. "You look gorgeous."
"Thanks." She grinned widely. "So, you ready to go?"
"Yep. Let's get goin'." Walking hand in hand with her, Sky knew that it just felt right to be with her, and knew that this was the woman he wanted to spend the rest of his life with.
End Flashback
Sky smiled at the memory and proceeded to the next picture. The second one was of their wedding day. Little things here and there had gone wrong, but the day was perfect in spite of that.
Flashback
"Sky! You ready in there, man?" Jack yelled through the door.
"Yeah. Is Syd?"
Jack opened the door and walked in. "Yeah, I think so. It's time to get this thing done."
"She's gonna marry me isn't she?" Sky smiled, staring in the mirror.
"That would be my guess. Either that or she's totally gonna burn you by leaving you at the altar," Jack joked, but then saw Sky's fear-filled face. "I'm only joking, Sky. You have nothing to worry about."
"I hope so."
"I know so."
End Flashback
Sky chucked to himself. How could he have been so stupid to believe that Syd would leave him at the altar. He knew her better than that. The third and final picture his eyes fell on was of the day that changed his life forever.
Flashback
"Hey baby," Sky whispered to his tiny, newborn daughter. "I'm your Daddy. I love you so much Sweetheart." He couldn't believe how great he felt. Here he was looking down on his own flesh and blood. He looked up at Syd in the bed and smiled at her. Before today, he thought that she couldn't look any more beautiful to him, but it happened. Right now, he considered himself the luckiest man in the world. He knew that starting today, nothing else mattered except his wife and daughter.
A knock on the door shook him from his thoughts. When it opened, it revealed Z, Bridge, and Jack. "Hey Syd. How are you doing?"
"A little tired, but other than that, I feel great."
The three visitors walked up to the bassinet beside Syd and gazed at the newest addition. "You guys, she's so cute." Bridge cooed.
After very little persuasion they took turns holding her, while Sky held on to his wife.
End Flashback
After returning to the search for the camera, Sky finally found it. Grabbing it, he went downstairs to get Syd and Liz, who were all ready and waiting by the door. "You ready?"
"Sure am. Let's go." Sky grabbed Syd's hand and he led his two girls to the car and they were soon on their way to the church. On the way, Sky smiled to himself, I hope Z and Bridge have this kind of life.
THE END
Please R&R. It's probably not as good as the first chapter, but I kinda
wanted to do Sky's P.O.V. Sorry if you're disappointed. Thanks to everyone that
reviewed the first one.
